Do you know you can cancel Counter booked ticket in IRCTC Portal

I think many of us who have booked a ticket at Indian railway counter go to counter to cancel the ticket. 

You can cancel a booked ticket online in the IRCTC portal. You do not need to go to the railway counter to cancel the ticket. You can simply cancel the ticket online.

How it works. 

• You need to login to IRCTC portal and click on link cancel counter ticket.
• you can simply click on the following URL.
• https://www.operations.irctc.co.in/ctcan/SystemTktCanLogin.jsf
• Enter your PNR number
• Enter your Train number 
• Enter the captcha
• You will receive a one-time password in your mobile number. You should have the same mobile number which you have filled during the time of Railway reservation.
• Once you enter OTP you receive on your mobile your ticket will be canceled.

How Will I get my Refund 

Once you have canceled ticket, you can get the refund by visiting any Indian Railway counter and show your canceled ticket you will get the refund. 

When Shall I cancel my ticket 

You have to cancel ticket 24 hours before train departure.

When Shall I go for Money Refund?

You can visit the Indian Railway counter 4 hours before the train departure for the confirm railway ticket in case of waiting or RAC ticket you should go 2 hours before the train departure. You will not get any refund in case you go after the departure of the train.
